We first contacted Valentine Properties via the Internet from California in April or May 2006. They patiently kept us informed of every new listing that matched our criteria, made suggestions on refining our criteria, followed up when we needed additional data, and called to clarify any other questions we had. In December we finally found the perfect-for-us place near downtown. Their representative picked us up and showed us around other places, as well as our first choice, in that storm that stranded 5,000 people at DIA. We were fortunate to have agents who truly represented the BUYER, and did it well. Their follow-though and computer ticklers are great. Thanks to Jamie, Art, and all their staff for a very successful (long-distance) property search and purchase from the Trustee for our Family Trust.

College Student - First Time Buyer

Relocation Buyer

I was working with another realtor, when we were living in PA knowing that we were relocating to CO. The questionable saleable situation that we were in with our then current house made us wonder if we needed to look into something that was “rent to own”. (we had not sold our current home and were scheduled to move in 6 weeks) When I talked to my then current realtor, I told her what we were thinking and she said that “she would get back to me” with some possible listings. 1 ½ weeks later, frustrated that I still had heard nothing from her; yet seeing all kinds of listings on line for “RTO” homes, I started calling on some myself. This is when I ran into Art. He talked to me and found out what we needed and immediately went to work, emailing me listings that met our criteria. He also found out the reasons why we felt that we needed a “RTO” and was able to offer hope that we still might be able to get into a home not as a Renter but as an owner! 4 weeks later when my original realtor did call me back, I told her that we no longer needed her services. Our house did sell, (Praise God!) and when we came to CO we had less than 3 weeks to find a home and close on it!! Not a small task by anyone’s standards!! Again, Art was great! He sat up showings and we searched the world over seeing up to 15 houses per day until we found the one that worked! Then Jamie went to work on the offer, negotiations and paper work, What an amazing team they are!! We actually closed on the house 1 day before our June 30^th deadline when we had to be out of our temp. living situation !! They are truly the hardest working best listening realtors that I have ever worked with!!!!!

First Time Buyers

Art and Jamie are the kind of real estate agents that genuinely care about their clients. They listen to the needs of their clients and then determine what how best to service those needs. For my wife Angela and myself, we came across their website from some online searches. We had recently married and were curious to check out the housing market. After signing up on valentineproperty.com, Jamie contacted us to see if there was anything else she could do to help in our search. We kindly responded that we were just “looking” at the moment and wouldn’t be in a position to buy until some time the following year. Jamie didn’t try to pressure us into signing any exclusive contracts, and we continue using their search engine to find our future home.

Six months later when we were ready to purchase our first home, we had already narrowed down the search to a few houses in a specific neighborhood. We met with Jamie at their office, where she went over the buying process and what Valentine Property could bring to the table. The entire process was very professional without becoming excessive. When we went out to see the properties a few days later, Jamie personally showed the houses to us and offered her experience and knowledge on the ins and outs of the neighborhood and the houses built in this time period. In a move that truly exemplifies her dedication to her clients; she continued to show us these houses while having minor birthing contractions [she was pregnant].

When we came to a decision on which house we wanted to put an offer on, Jamie showed us what it means to do your homework. She tracked down the original asking price, how long the house has been on the market, and how many times the homeowner had lowered the price. Additionally, she had numerous conversations with the selling agent to gauge how low of a price we could offer and to get a read on the integrity of the agent. When we wrote up the offer, we offered a price that was competitively lower than the asking price. Minutes after making the offer, Jamie continued to do her homework and called the selling agent, only to discover that the seller had received an offer an hour earlier for close to asking price. We quickly rewrote our offer and had it submitted in less than an hour. In the end it turned out that the offer price was exactly the same as the other offer. By no fault of Jamie, the seller went with the other buyer. When we decided on making an offer for another home on the same day, Jamie went back to work and we quickly wrote up an offer on our current home, which was accepted.

Valentine Property made the next stage of the buying process entirely hassle free. They sent out email reminders for each stage of the contract and many times followed up the emails with telephone calls to verify the deadlines. After the home inspection, Jamie helped put together an aggressive inspection objection list where we received another $3,000-$4,000 dollars in repairs on the home. Again it was due to her doing her homework early on that she knew where we stood with the seller and the seller’s agent, and how far we could push them on the inspection objections. We closed later that month and we continue to marvel at how easily and smoothly the whole process went.

Since purchasing the home, Jamie and Art continue to offer us services free of charge. They check up on us to make sure that we are still happy with our purchase, and send us quarterly reports on the homes that are available in the area, and the ones that have sold or been placed under contract. We have come to appreciate that extra step for keeping up with our neighborhood.

Services - Made the process of purchasing a home like going to the grocery store for eggs. They did all the research on the property, knowing what I was looking for, and what was within my price range, so that all I had to do was pick the one that I wanted. Simple, and painless, without the stress that would normally accompany a major purchase like this. Made themselves available to me after the sale for anything that I had questions or issues with. Old fashioned customer service that is, for the most part, nonexistent today!!
Communication/Follow up - It was always easy to get in touch with the Valentines. They quickly returned emails, and or phone calls. Throughout the process I would receive informative material from them on different aspects of purchasing real estate. These would be things that I needed to be aware of, common mistakes, assumptions, pitfalls.
Would you refer us to others? - I would be quite confident in referring the Valentines to any one that I knew that had need of their services. I could not have been more pleased with them, and the way that I was treated. They cared for me as if I were a friend of theirs. That means a lot to me!! They are the best!!

Jamie Valentine and her team were great in assisting me in selling my home. When I called them, they were ready the next day. They took very little time to actually sell the house, I would say less than 4 months and had many showings during that time. Jamie was professional and kind.
